Serengeti, looking for cats

Thursday 24th March

Trying to find the lions and cheetah that had eluded us on the previous day, Simon and Muba got us away early and we did a huge loop to the southeast. Looking for the cats, we visited and drove around a lot of kopjes.

We saw several pairs of jackals, lots of antelope, elephant, and a good assortment of birds, but no cats.

Just before returning to the campsite, we visited a park information centre, which had a little walk with displays and some information about the history of Serengeti. There were some dwarf mongooses here that had got used to having people around.
