Kuranda is in the running for the most touristy town I've ever visited, and I can't say it appealed to me much.

We walked out to Barron Falls first, which was nice. Here I got to see Oecophyla (weaver ants) for the first time.

We visited the butterfly house, which was great, and did some shopping in the markets — or at least Camilla did, without a bookshop there wasn't much to grab me. Other attractions include a poisonous animal "museum", an aviary, a bat centre, and a koala zoo.
