Beijing street life - old and new

We caught a taxi back to Wangfujing Daje, where we went into Oriental Plaza to use the toilets. Despite the glossiness of the public areas, the toilets were still very much Third World.

And you didn't have to go far to see remnants of "old" Beijing, with hutong backstreets barely 50 metres away.

We visited the Foreign Language Bookshop again and had dinner in the Wangfujeng "snack street". Then we walked back to our hotel.
