Lake Nakuru National Park
birds, buffalo, waterbuck, zebra

Our next stop was on the lake shore, where there were huge numbers of marabou storks, pelicans, and both lesser and greater flamingos, along with other birds. (Among them pied avocets, ruffs, black-winged stilts, grey-headed gulls, sacred ibis, African spoonbills, and great cormorants.)

Some of the other birds we saw at Lake Nakuru included auger buzzards, yellow-billed storks, superb and blue-eared starlings, kestrels, yellow wagtails, grey hornbills, and common scimitar-bill.

We were able to get out and walk around a bit here, which was nice, though we were called back to the vehicle when some buffalo approached. Three of those wandered off into the lake, scattering a few of the birds. There were also waterbuck and zebra along the shore.
