New Zealand Photos
I took over 1000 photographs during the trip. Of those, 130 were used in this travelogue and 8 favorites are presented here (in chronological order).
The photographs were taken with a Canon Powershot S330 compact digital camera, as 1600x1200 superfine jpegs. The thumbnails link to larger (760x570) images; the original images are available on request.
a fur seal at Oamaru (slightly cropped) This fur seal was lying down originally and we almost fell over it.
Nugget Point (in the Catlins) The highlight of our drive from Dunedin to Invercargill.
juvenile Keas on the Kepler Track I took twenty photos here: gorgeous birds, with an amazing backdrop.
Milford Sound in the morning Of over one hundred photos I took in Milford Sound, the best were the first two, taken from the shore in morning light.
napping at Lake Marian | |
the Eyre Mountains (leaving Fiordland) A good spot to stop didn't come up, so this photo was taken from a moving car. It turned out much better than I'd expected.
Lake Dispute (near Queenstown) Not Fiordland wilderness, and not much shade at midday, but still a pretty little lake.
early morning near Twizel Setting out for Mount Cook early in the morning, there was no traffic at all, so I could stand in the middle of the road. |
There are 120 more photos in the main travelogue.
